101 in 1001

Here's the list, and this is where I'll be keeping track and recording my efforts. Some may end up a little ambitious, but I'm a big believer in that when you need something to happen, it generally does. And if it doesn't, you obviously didn't need it that much!

  1. Stop biting my fingers.
  2. Be a vegetarian for a year.
  3. Take at least one photo a day for a year.
  4. Practice ‘one bag living’ for a year.
  5. Run a marathon.
  6. Write a book, and send it to at least 20 publishers.
  7. Earn money doing something I love (not James).
  8. Go to Venice.
  9. Write an article and get it published.
  10. Make a corset.
  11. Go to Spinalonga.
  12. Go to Guernsey.
  13. Talk to someone who lived through the Biafran war.
  14. Help at a Christmas food kitchen for the homeless.
  15. Learn to drive and get a driving licence.
  16. Learn to meditate.
  17. Grow dreadlocks.
  18. Cycle from London to Paris.
  19. Go to Bhutan.
  20. Try tofu.
  21. Don't use cars as a mode of transport for two months (walk, public transport, cycle).
  22. Only throw away one bin bag of rubbish in a whole year (recycle, donate, compost etc.)
  23. One year, give only home-made Christmas presents.
  24. Don't watch TV or go to the cinema for two months.
  25. Sell something on eBay.
  26. Learn to read knitting patterns and knit something wearable.
  27. Give blood.
  28. Cycle everyday for a month.
  29. Work for my ticket at a festival.
  30. See the Northern Lights.
  31. Make pasta from scratch.
  32. Be able to do 50 consecutive push ups.
  33. Learn one ballroom dance (with a partner....James?).
  34. Learn to do yoga.
  35. Don't complain about anything for a week.
  36. Do some guerrilla gardening- plant three plants.
  37. Identify 100 things I'm truly thankful for.
  38. Have a manicure.
  39. Have a massage by a professional.
  40. Be responsible for the planting of 100 trees.
  41. Learn to identify 10 constellations.
  42. Be involved in a singing performance.
  43. Go to an opera.
  44. Learn to make soap.
  45. Make a felt hat.
  46. Keep a diary or blog everyday for two months (could be six-word journaling...).
  47. Swim in a natural river.
  48. Don't use the internet for a month.
  49. Learn first aid.
  50. Brush my teeth twice a day for a month.
  51. Go skinnydipping.
  52. Go barefoot for three days.
  53. Watch the sunrise and sunset in one day.
  54. Upload a video to YouTube with no help whatsoever.
  55. See Frank Turner in concert.
  56. Grow mushrooms.
  57. Sleep under the stars.
  58. Try a spin class.
  59. Be able to touch my toes.
  60. Milk a cow/goat.
  61. Go to bellydancing class(es).
  62. Open a cookbook to a random page and cook and eat what is on it for my main meal every day for a month.
  63. Sleep in a hammock.
  64. Learn to do front crawl comfortably and competently.
  65. See a Shakespeare play in Stratford.
  66. Learn 50 words in sign language.
  67. Visit a sewage plant.
  68. Visit a prison.
  69. Do something that scares me every day for a month.
  70. Participate in a protest.
  71. Go to a flea market (Sunday Flea at the Custard Factory?)
  72. Learn how to read tarot.
  73. Work out how to make the lemonade my mum used to make.
  74. Write a message on the wall of a public toilet.
  75. Be a giver for World Book Night.
  76. Participate in a photoshoot.
  77. Read a book in french.
  78. Send a message in a bottle.
  79. Make a list of at least 30 books I want to read and read them.
  80. Go bus-hopping.
  81. Buy 5 ‘Big Issue’s.
  82. Go out for brunch/breakfast.
  83. Ride a vespa.
  84. Enter a photography competition.
  85. Attempt to learn to surf.
  86. Get involved with a charity other than Mary Stevens, preferably that will help future job applications to charities eg. Office work for Oxfam or Greenpeace.
  87. Go on a picnic (outside).
  88. Don’t pick James’ spots for 2 months.
  89. Visit 5 different European countries.
  90. Learn to make 5 recipes using spinach that I like.
