Notebender's, protesters, burgers and Becky's carvery.

Day 26 - 26th January 2013

Super quick post because I'm ready for bed, will elaborate in the morning.

We went to Birmingham, watched some music, saw some protesters, ate a burger, came back, got ready in half an hour, went out for a carvery, got the bus home and walked Becky back in the rain carrying a sledge full of presents and a little tree.

Update: I said I'd elaborate, but I don't have much time, so I'll just elaborate a little bit. We only just caught the 141 to Birmingham in time, because of the icy pavements (it was literally like an ice rink), but we did catch it. Me and Joe had a good time playing eye spy with Johnnie, and trying to help him see himself in the camera. The music was 'The Notebenders', who were a kind of jazz band (I think?). They were really good, although I preferred the second half (they did 'My baby don't care', and 'RESPECT'). Johnnie dancing to respect was absolutely hilarious. It was quite funny because there was an EVF (English Voluntary Force) protest just outside, and the band was about 70% black, with a totally multicultural audience. It was quite reassuring that there was only about 40 of them, and everyone we saw looked at them like they were ignorant idiots. Then we went to the Handmade Burger Company (which James was very cross about, because he wanted to go with me), and I had a VERY hot peri peri chicken burger. It was delicious but my mouth was on fire! Then I rushed home, got ready (shower, hair wash, find clothes which not everyone has already seen before), and went to the carvery for Becky's meal. It was really fun, although we had to take her sledge, tree, and all her other presents home on the bus, in the rain.
