#3 - Take at least one photo every day for a year. #49 Keep a diary or blog every day for two months (six word journalling)

Day 15 - 15th January 2013

Today, I had a ponytail!! It's getting on for a year since my head shave, and I've finally reached the ponytail stage!!

I've been thinking an awful lot about that girl I mentioned yesterday, Alice Pyne. I've been talking to a lot of people about  bone marrow donation, because that was one of her big goals: to get everyone in the world who can to be on the register. Although I do have certain reservations about unnaturally prolonging lives, my mum lived for 10 years with cancer thanks to various blood transfusions and surgeries, and I know for a fact that if I or one of my loved ones was unlucky enough to need a bone marrow transplant, I would want there to be people on the register to turn to. The same goes for blood, which has been an aim of mine for much longer. One of the reasons I hadn't thought about bone marrow donation until reading Alice's blog was that I didn't know anything about it!! One of her campaigns was to get greetings cards manufacturers to print information about bone marrow donation on their 18th birthday cards (the age you can join the register in the UK), and I really want to try and get more support for that, since I think at least it gives people the information. I'm not 18 yet, so I can't really begin practicing what I preach until February, but when I go to give blood on the 30th, I'm going to ask about joining the register. Look into the bone marrow register in your country!!
