Phew...close call there when I dropped my new camera and the lens stopped shooshing in and out! It seems to have started working again now, although there's a click that wasn't there before :S
Relatively uneventful day today, but I came home to a letter from Dudley Council. It seems I have been nominated (by who???) for the Dudley Youth Awards! I'm short-listed for the 'Excellence Award', which is apparently for 'an extraordinary young person who shows courage, acts as a role model, is compassionate and is committed to their community.' Scary :S I'm assuming I've been nominated by someone at college, but it doesn't say, hopefully I'll find out on the night. I've got to go for a 'photo shoot' in February, for the programme, which will no doubt be awful.
I can only guess that my courageous act was shaving my hair off last year, although it's so long ago it doesn't really feel right to be accepting an award about it...I will though...partly because it should be a bit of extra publicity for the hospice, and partly because I like praise ;)
So to whoever nominated me: Thanks :) Much appreciated, and I hope I get to thank you in person.
In case it's too small to read, it begins:
Dear Ruby,
Congratulations! You have been short listed for the 9th annual Dudley Youth Awards!
You have been nominated for a Dudley Youth Award in the category of Excellence Award by someone who thinks you deserve an award, and I can now confirm that you have been successfully shortlisted.
Wow!
